Why China

China is the world’s largest steel producer and raw material consumer.
Its steel mills seek reliable, high-quality raw material sources and trusted international partners.

Unmatched Scale in Steel Production:
China dominates global steel output, producing over 1 billion metric tons annually—accounting for 54% of the world’s total in 2023—and fueling massive infrastructure and manufacturing demands.

Strategic Raw Material Imports:

China imported a record 1.24 billion metric tons of iron ore in 2024, an increase of 4.9% from 2023. Most of this supply came from Australia (64%) and Brazil (20%), ensuring a stable flow of raw materials for China’s steel industry even with limited local reserves.
